This project required adding leg extensions to the stools to raise the seat height by 6 inches, and to refinish.
Deceivingly the stools had more work than was expected, as the original finish had a plastic resin undercoat applied first. In order to achieve the natural wood finish it was required to strip the original finish down through the resin to reach the wood; a lot of elbow grease, stripping fluid and time.
Then came repairs to the wood as flaws were revealed when the old finish and resin was removed. A Satin Polyurethane Varnish was applied after extensive sanding.
