These chairs were generally in good condition at the start, apart from the joints becoming loose and the finish coating not doing justice to the beautiful wood that mahogany is, when it is finished with a product that enhances or brings out the beauty of the wood. Anyhow the chair was stripped of the finish coating and completely dismantled. Cracks, nail head holes and indentations in the wood were repaired and the chair then reassembled using a strong water-proof glue (no nails this time). A polyurethane satin varnish was applied with two coats at the finish.
