This Rocking Chair had to be stripped of the old finish and then completely dismantled as parts were broken and many of the mortise and tenon joints had come loose with age. It was an interesting project as I had to rebuild the bent-wood armrest and one spindle using the same broken part which meant matching the wood and grain as best I could and using some unique joinery to maintain the structural integrity of the part.

The finish was done in a "satin polyurethane varnish" with a three coat application.

The caned seat had to be taken out because of the dismantling and therefore a new caned seat was beautifully done by another craftsman.
