This 40 year old chair was badly weathered with every joint either loose or damaged by decay over time, with attempts made of keeping it together with screws. Two parts were also missing that had to be re-manufactured - a back slat and the forward cross brace between the front legs. The chair was completely cleaned and stripped of old finish and then every joint disassembled and repaired where needed; all sanded before re-assembly. The chair had many flaws that were not seen until disassembled these had to be repaired before reassembling. The chair after assembly was given a final sanding, primed and painted with three coats in white enamel high gloss finish. Technically this chair is a new chair once again, only this time it is joined with a modern and stronger waterproof polyurethane adhesive/glue.

An enjoyable project throughout.
