This very old Carved Table was in a bad way after being stripped of its dark finish which appears to have been used to hide shady workmanship. Because of its age their were many flaws and cracks in the wood and one of the carvings was completely rotted out.

I had to fill all the flaws and cracks with my own home made filler to match the wood in the piece as best as possible. The rotted carving was repaired and a replica carving made. The the piece was sanded and finished with Polyurethane Satin Varnish.

I do prefer the natural finish in these old pieces of furniture as it shows the beauty of the various wood and colours. What a difference!
